The Bulgarian Career fair in London this year gathered more than 20 employers who were eager to talk about the prospects for Bulgarians who completed their education abroad.
One of them was Hana Citbajova, Head of HR at UniCredit Bulbank who left the Bulgarian Embassy in London with positive feeling about the fair. She believes Bulgarians are becoming more willing to come back home and build successful careers:
“Attendees come here and are generally interested in asking questions about our company. When we do presentations in Bulgaria, I see slightly less proactiveness and less questions. The interest here is stronger than ever.”
Citbajova believes there is a good chance that many of those who visited the event can join UniCredit Bulbank as interns or even employees.
“What we value very highly is the diversity. We want to have people from different backgrounds combining people with international experience and Bulgarians from home. The more diversity, the better results we achieve.”
More than 30 students from abroad were hired at UniCredit Bulbank last year. Asked about the working conditions and prospects in Bulgaria, Citbajova advises young Bulgarians to think more positively about their country saying:
“If you want to make a significant career, your home country is the place for you to achieve it. To become a CEO or a board member of a company is almost impossible to achieve in London. When you go home you have the open paths. If you work hard and commit yourself, you can achieve it.”
